hey everyone, im currently residing in western north carolina. im thinking about taking a cool job in florida, ill probably be living near tampa. i know there are alotta cool snakes there , but im just wondering how the way of life is in those parts. odd question i know but any info would be great, moving there would be a big step for me and i would hate regretting it. also i hear the florida venomous laws are pretty good, as in they have a good reasonable permit system. would it be legal for me to take my pets with me and then apply for the permit?

No, it would not be legal for you to take your "pets" with you until you got your permit.
The upside is that you can apply for and get your permit prior to moving to Florida and you can submit letters of recommendations of licensed keepers or professional people who are knowledgeable of your keeping history and skills.

Write to:
Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission
Bureau of Licensing and Permitting
2590 Executive Center Circle Suite 200
Berkley Building
Tallahassee, FL 32301
Ask for a VR permit application. If you have more than 25 snakes, you will also need another license..cost is $5. The VR permit is $100 per year.
If you intend to display to the public, you will be required to post a $1000 bond, which will cost about $100 per year.
