I have found a 1.2 c/b trio of white lipped pitvipers, that are proven. The asking price is three hundred dollars. Does anyone know if this is a good deal or not. I am not familiar with the prices of proven breeders. Also does anyone know how difficult these are to keep, and breed? Thanks Billy

Hi,
I don't really know about good prices but recently I did email Mardi Snipes of Coastal Reptiles to see how difficult they are to keep because I was thinking about acquiring a pair. He said that they are not hard to keep but the neonates are a little difficult at first to get feeding. I didn't see this as a problem because I have always gotten neonates to eat by one fashion or another. They just need the right enclosure as they are tree dwelling animals. I really like that species and am still looking at possibly getting a pair. If the one's you speak of are proven, my gut says that that price is good. I hope this helps and maybe someone else can give you more info on price.
Have a good one.
Clayton

I've seen healthy adult white lips sell for 100-150. So 300 for a trio sounds good as long as they ARE "Proven Breeders". The couple that I worked with were great eaters and easy to take care of.

Hey shane, one female is huge and she had 20+ babies. The other female is small and she only had 7 babies, and all survived from her. I cant wait to breed them in the near future. I hope yours starts eating again. If not I should have some babies in the future some time! Billy

White lip vipers are easy to keep they feed very strong. Keep one thing in mind albolabris are aggressive and will stike if they are disturbed. Their temper is very short, Never trust a albolabris at all. Regarding the price proven breeders I have seen pairs sell for $140 it just depends on the quality of the snakes how clean they are. My female had 24 babies total.
