Hi,
I don't know if you can buy scented mice. What we do at the zoo I work at is buy feeder snakes (African House snakes)and either feed those or freeze them and cut them in small peices so we don't have to thaw the whole snake to scent with. If you want a less gross method you might try keeping a milksnake or somthing you can scent off of. I'd be a little worried about disease transfer though.
Hope this helps,
Rebecca : )

Dude!! If you have O.hannah and dont know the answers to the questions you asked I feel sorry for you and even more so for the snake/s! Buying pre sented rodents?!?!?! Come on now!
If you are serious, Rebecca's advise is pefect but if you are owning any venomous snake, let alone the king of them all and potentialy one of the most dangerous animals on the planet, you should know how to keep that animal prefectly and have had boocoo expeirence working with other animals before aquireing your specimen which obviously you havent.
If you are a Troll, go bugger off but if your are serious, I will try to help were I can, not for you but for the snake.
Confused and alittle ticked off,
Jeremy

Hi Rebecca,
The snake shown in that pic is the infamous Red Pygmy Rattlesnake(Sistirurus miliaris)found in only 2 counties of North Carolina. If you would like to see some better shots, minus big ugly snake hunter scareing the poor little pig, go to the Feild photos album here on this site and look for the pics labled Trip to Lake Mattamuskeet NC. There are a few decent close ups and not to toot my own horn or anything, some really neat habitat shots as well!
Take care and how is that melanilistic Mangrove doing?(You are the same Rebecca from the rear fanged forum, right?)
Peace,
Jeremy

Jeremy,
No, I'm the Rebecca from the skink forum and I don't keep venomous yet. Just about every other herp though. Those are some nice pics, very cute little guy! I wish we had more venomous down here in Texas. We have mostly copperheads, cottonmouths and an occasional coral.
