I am new to hopt keeping and am looking at getting my fisrt serious hot snake and I would like to know what are good species to start with?

I don't know if I can really say there is a best first hot snake to get. I would like to say that you should really think about what you are getting into. This is not just a hobby but rapidly becomes a passion. If you have not had some good experience with hots I would suggest you try to get some. Mistakes in this endeavor can be fatal. After saying that I can get off my soap box and say get something you really are passionate about and that doesn't get real big. Also get something that maybe someone else you know has and can help you develope your handling skills. I would never reccomend any one get into this but I must admit it is a very rewarding and interesting passion. You will find it is the most facinating animal endeavor you will ever experience.

Get the AV first, then decide on the first hot my friend. Also, find a doc that can treat a bite. Any Q's, I will help. Tim
