One day while herping I found a rattle snake. I am not sure what it was though. It was a pinkish color with velvet diamon going down it back. It was here in NE Texas. Does anyone know what it type of rattler it might have been?

Hi,
Sounds like a Western Diamondback (Crotalus atrox). These will vary in color a bit. Your area also has the Timber Rattlesnake (Crotalus horridus). Timbers have cheverons rather than diamonds on their backs. they too, show up in a number of different colors.
luck,
