My friend is looking after someones snake who is overseas. He has let their cobra suffer a mouse bite. Im not sure how long the mouse was left in there. It now has an abscess. He is scared to take it to a vet due to local and state laws. Is there anything I can do, or instruct him to do that will be of any help? Topical treatments? Ill post a picture when I go back over to see the snake. It was a circle about 1/4 in diameter.

There is no law against exotic hots in NC. Antibiotics and a topical antibacterial treatment would probably help. Normally it would be good practice to have identified an exotic vet willing to work with naja before aquiring the animal. Be very careful... I'm guessing that if you don't have a vet, you don't have any AV either??? Because of the current political situation here in NC, irresponsible husbandry and lack of safety protocal could easily lead to the death of the hobby in this state.
