Thought I would start a new thread to address Joshua`s question about the use of Electric Shock from a Cattle Prod, in the treatment of scorpion and spider envenomations.
As Chris stated in ``Herpwannabe's question for Chris Harper.,`` it has been pretty well proven that this treatment does not work on Snake, Scorpion, and Spider Bites.
There are anecdotal accounts of Electrical Shock being of some use in the treatment of Snake, Scorpion, and Spider envenomations, but no scientific proof for this.
A good review of the literature concerning this topic can be found in the article titled:
Use of stun guns for venomous bites and stings: a review.

there is an upstanding member amongst you guys that would beg to differ according to what he told me.......
electrical shock from his old ford truck administered via plug wire reversed the effects of a bite from a young southern copperhead lol
(i know he's a very untruthful person from 2 other incidents but he's got a few people fooled....no way he'd chime in though)

Thanks again, John. While I am sure most Baptists deserve a good cattle prod from time to time (j/k, lol), I will pass this info along so that nobody accidentally dies from this quack treatment.
