Well I am the puppy poster:) I thought twice about it and saw that others had posted other non herp items for sale or trade. I thought why the hell not.I will give trade value twords herps if that matters.I figured I would also give some the people on this site a better deal on a pup (being fellow hot lovers). I have them listed at $950-$850 in the local paper and a few canine sites. I can see both points(Why the hell not post whatever)but where do you draw the line.If the classifieds are not to flooded and the people posting items for sale are fellow hot keepers and legitmate sellers.....why the hell not.I would abide by any rules set by the site admin and I agree with Chris and Karls decision.

p.s.
I think the bigger problem with the classifieds is one that is not easly fixed. The rip offs and trolls. The only way I know to do that is make it members only with a password. People posting non herp related items is not what is clogging the classifieds. Its the trolls and cons with their fake ads and bogus posts. I have a feeling it is only a few people at best causing 99% of any problems with this site..........Trey

For what it's worth:
I always leave ads that say that they accept reptiles for trade. Anything that is out and out blatantly nonreptiles related in any way, I usually delete.
Most times I cut and paste the ad and send it back to whoever posted it and tell them what is wrong with it.
I am sure there are still many people here who have received just such an email from me.
Some folks are not very receptove to my email guidance and I have been called a Nazi among other nonpublicly repeatable things.
It is much harder to dig out the true trolls and flim-flam artists.
The bottom line is - it's your money.
If you want to send it to someone who won't even tell you their real name, then I probably can't protect you from what will inevitably happen to you on the world wide web. To that end, there was a post in here about spidermandied. But, as Al said, we have not received any specific complaints about anyone's dealings with him.
My own guidelines - I don't buy things, especially animals, online from people I don't personally know.
Just my own point of view,

Well, I must say that is disappointing, as I have enjoyed posting a few nonherp ads here in the past and planned to in the future (though I didn't necessarily get a sale from them), but I fully respect and will abide by the decision of the webmaster. I too think maybe the ads need to be a little more stringent. Not just an account with a password, as you need that to post anything here, but more along the lines of something wherein you apply for the account and are verified through the webmaster and/or classifieds manager, then given a new password, etc to post in the classifieds. Just a thought....though I realize there probably isn't enough manpower behind this site to run such a system.
