I have a suggestion for ya'll Chris et. al. Could we have a separate section (a link) on the Left <--- selection menu for first timers/novices? We could have a venomous snake FAQ section, the venomous snake key that someone did in HTML,a glossary, and a section on correct explanations of myths. I sat in a denstist's chair yesterday listening to a story about how a cottonmouth jumped out of a tree into a boat just to drown this fella's buddy. "Luckily" this guy had the presense of mind to shoot the snake with rat shot (which subsequently sank the boat). This guy went to college longer than I have! I think that I spend half of my time convincing people that snakes are more afraid of them than they are of snakes. I think if enough of us got our brains together this wouldn't be a difficult addition. It would definitely be easier for those who come to the site for knowledge to get a few basics out of the way before they get going good. We could call it Herps 101...
Examples of Snake Myths:
Snakes can break into pieces and then re-from later
Exp:
This is probably an observation of the glass lirard (Opiosaurus - or "snake lizard"). Like many lizards, this group is capable of losing their tail. Unlike other lizards, however, this group has no legs. To most people, this lizard looks exackly like a snake. If threatened it can lose its tail, looking as though it were a snake that broke in half. This tail can later be regenerated.
There are hundreds more myths that we can dispel...

That's certainly possible. But you know what would speed things like this up? IF ALLTEL.NET WOULD GET OFF THEIR REARENDS AND GET DSL OUT TO MY HOUSE!
Can you believe that I've been working on the website from a 26.4Kb dial-up for 29 months because of them!?!
Trying to FTP through a dial-up is a pain in the butt.

Chris: It has to be a pain running the web site from a 26K modem.
I guess I should stop complaining about my slow and un-reliable Bell South DSL connection, but it really is pretty bad.
Hopefully, they will get DSL or Cable out to you sometime in the near future.

Chris,
If you need help let me know. I know what you mean about speed. Here at work we have a couple of trunks in and a couple out. That means good speed. At home, though, I'm stuck with 46 kbps. Maybe for my graduation/Christmas present I'll get myself DSL...
