O. hannah are the largest venomous snakes, of course. Once the new species are described--the genus is broken down, and it will be--You may find that only one O. hannah is the largest. I wouldn't be suprised if Bryan's is legit. That said, Naja melanoleuca can get quite large.
Cheers

I used to live in Fl and I had a few opportunites to speak to George Vanhorn about kings...he was incredably helpful to me and even took a venom sample from my two kings...but anyhow he has a monster king that is in a room size enclosure..the animal is every bit of 16 feet and maybe more...that was about 4 years ago so I'll bet she's grown alittle...

Hi,
I belive the largest O.hannah on record was a specimen at the London zoo which was 18(and 1/2 I belive)ft long! This snake however was killed during the bombing of London by the Nazi's for the zoo keepers thought it may get out if the zoo was hit and reak havoc on the city. I cant remember what the source was for that information but I belive it was creditable.
Hope this helps.
All the best,
Jeremy

Call me crazy, but I just can't imagine handling a venomous snake that big. I've gotta think there is no safe way other than tubes & LARGE trap boxes.

my female king is about 10-11 feet and my male is around 9+....the male is pretty easy to tail and control..the female is alittle more difficult but do-able..most of the time I use shift boxes but the female sometimes needs a eyecap removed...I give her a damp rag to chew on while I do my thing and that keeps her busy...kings like to chew thier venom in....its still pretty intimidating though..I cant imagine a 18 footer to deal with...

Bill Haast had one back in the late '50's that was eighteen feet. I watched him extract venom from it.
