The classic snake bags were made of Unbleached Cotton Muslin Fabric, which is very strong and fairly soft textured once washed. Best Regards JohnZ

Greg: Have any ideas on how I might get my hands on some Parachute Silk? I do recall hearing that this stuff is as tough as Hell. Im getting kind of tired of having to make new Bags every Year. Know what I mean?

I wish I did. I picked up a couple of bags at an auction in Gainesville at a herp conference a bunch of years ago.
The fact that they take up almost no space is a real plus for them. All I can suggest is that you run a search on parachute silk & see if you can't find some thru the computer.

I have seen a couple of WW2 / Korea War parachutes for sale over the years at army surplus stores. Perhaps there are still some out there somewhere.
