Thanks to snakeguy 101 for the informative answer on envenomation. Now I need to know if venomous snakes use muscle pressure on the venom glands to "control" venom flow, or some other mechanism?

Sorry for double post, but yes the glands are surrounded by skeletal muscle which contract to secrete venom. Skeletal muscle is voluntary.
