Death from a Copperhead bite,(or any other snake bite), can happen quickly, when a fang pierces a vein or artery, and venom dose goes directly into the blood stream, then directly to the heart, brain, or lungs.
If one looks at all the blood vessles that can be seen under the skin of a human hand, and on the wrists and arms, it is easy to see how a fang can hit a vessle.
There is also the possibility that someone will have an extreme allergic reaction to the venom, just as some folks have an extreme reaction to bee stings, or peanuts. Anaphylactic Shock can kill someone in a few minutes.
And Nick, as far as the not caring about spelling thing. A lot of younger folks seem to think that just because they are typing on a internet forum, that there is no need to spend the few seconds that it would take to proof read. Some of this is probably caused by the new "texting" fad where folks have learned to use abbreviations on cell phones.
The truth is that your literacy is being judged by others based on your spelling and word use.
If you type like a red neck hick, you will be thought of as a red neck hick. On a forum like this that might be read by half a million people, do you really want to create an image of yourself as someone who just does not care enough to fix simple spelling errors ? That would tell folks that you probably do not care about other things, and make you appear lazy.
For someone who wants to work with reptiles, it is entirely possible that the Curator you might apply for a job with someday could be reading what you post on this forum today.
Also, what you type on a forum here will still be in the public domain 10 and 15 years from now. More and more compaines that are looking to hire new people will research what those folks have written on forums like this. Also, as you go for promotions in your current job, it is very likely that someone will have reviewed your posting on internet forums, especially if you want to work in the law enforcement industry.
Spelling is difficult for me, and I often transpose letters when I type because I am a bit dyslexic. However, I make a great effort to preview what I post and check for spelling errors. It does not take much time, and is well worth the effort.
Some folks will just not care enough to use good spelling and grammer on an internet fourm, but those who take the time will eventually find that it was well worth their effort.
Hope this helps.
Best Regards JohnZ

I'm on Al's team and I think you're just jealous, Nick is it? Al has one of the best collections of hots on the planet. I think this makes you envyous because Al is one of the coolest dudes I've had the pleasure of speaking to occasionally. He's been in situations that would prolly make you have to go change your huge @$$ huggies. So don't hate on Al because he's a cool dude and your just some dude who got dropped on his head when he was born.

Just when it seems like he's cooling off, he flies off the handle.
Nick - fyi - if you want to continue receiving answers to your questions here on this forum, you need to act more like what you supposedly are and less like a 15 year old hothead.
Makes me almost ashamed I posted that information for you about the rattlesnakes. Do us all a favor and avoid anything potentially deadly for a while.

it depends how you look at it, some people think all publicity is good publicity, the likes of Paris Hilton ect, when really it depends how you look at it, I for one know I wouldnt want to be the hottest topic for the wrong reasons, in fact I would be very ashamed to be in your position but thats just my opinion.
Having said that, you have calmed down and started speaking more rationally, which is a good thing, you can learn a great deal from some of the people here, and its a really good site, with a wealth of information, obviously sometimes people are going to disagree it would be a boring world if it didnt happen, but theres ways to go about it.
The spelling thing, people will take you more seriously if you take the time, to add grammer and sort out mistakes, mines not perfect by any means but the effort is there.

Just to answer the question a few posts back. Last I heard the most TOxic animal on the planet was a form of S sea cone snail which is identical to a nonvenomous cone. They have a little tenticle with a barb, used for paralyzing prey. On that note, with most aquatic animals this principle applies, if you dont paralyze or kill another aquatic animal instantley, sharks or a cuda is gonna take your meal. As far as copperheads (agkistrodon in general) fire away, i dont mind answering any questions as long as you are seriously intersted in hearing the answers (again, I REALLy love aggies). A copperhead bite most certainly can be fatal, and again, a cotton bite, might make u wish it was fatal (at least for about 48 hrs).

Nick,
I will take you serious. and as you can tell we will gladly answer your questions. You say you are cool?if we got to know you we would like you.OK you have my attention.let people say what they want what you will find is if you keep your cool eventually the ones who are useing you for target practice will back off. answer peoples questions reasonably, and if someone says something that may offend you. sit back evaluate the situation and decide what you may want to do.we all started here probably a little more inexpierianced than we thought.sometimes we put our foot in our own mouth. But we all have to learn and as with almost anything in this world we will learn forever.what I do know is this web-site consists of almost all the responsible, respected, and profesional venomous keepers in the hobby.don't burn bridges here it can ruin your day and for what no reason.you have to understand your video's could change the venomous or exotic animal hobby I should say in one fatal swoop.not intentionally of coarse but inadvertantly.it happens but we have to be extra careful what we put out there for the publics eye to see.hit me up anytime.
