I'm trying to build up my book collection and I could not find any reviews on this book here so I was wondering if anyone has any input on it before I waste my money. I don't mean to sound cheap but theirs a lot of other books and such I know are good that I need and I'm broke lol.

Chris, the best thing you could do would be to look through a copy at a book store or library.
Mark O'Shea does a great job on his books, and this one has some good snake hunting adventures.
However, it might duplicate information you have in other books.
Are you looking for general information in an easy to read book, or, are you looking for the most up-to-date scientific information ?
You might want the book:
The Venomous Reptiles of the Western Hemisphere
(Volumes 1 and 2)
See: http://www.venomousreptiles.org/articles/183 for a review of this book by Mark O'Shea.
Best Regards John Z

Mark's book is a must have for hot herpers. I consult my copy often, sometimes just to see the fantastic pictures it contains.

Cool thanks thats pretty much what I wanted to know. I was already going to get venomous snakes in captivity (which is the main book I was after) and was wanting a few others as well. I figured it would be a good book to have. I'm going to check out those other 2 right now also. Thanks again.

Marks book is ok for the pictures, but, husbandry info is what I look for in a book and Marks book doesn't have it.
Ludwig Trutnau"s Book "Venomous Snakes",Snakes in the Terrarium" is a good read.
And has a load of husbandry info in it. Also Chad Minters book is good. And, B.W. Smiths book.
