Also anonymous,
You statement about a king cobra and a corn is somewhat false. Now if you said a baby king cobra and a kingsnake. They have a lot more similarites. That show that you have no idea of what you are talking about.

I am somewhat confused. What exactly is the similarity between a baby king cobra and a king snake? Other than they both eat other snakes, and have the name King???

Phillip: Just because PITA says stuff on their web site, it does not mean its true.Be carefull out there. There are a bunch of radical folks out there who want to do away with all kind of wildlife related places, including zoos, reptile parks, natural history museums, etc. These places often have captive reptiles for educational purposes, but the PITA folks dont want any of that at all. Don't fall into the trap on the fancy web site. Look beyond it.

A baby king cobra and a baby western kingsnake both look very close. They are both black with white rings. I know of several people who have fooled the DNR because of this. I know many members of PETA and they all say that is what is going on they have nothing against people keeping aninmals they just don't like idoits keeping animals and treating them like they are nothing. They are a lifeform and should be treated with respect. I show more respect to animals than I do most humans. Since I think we a not the supior creature. We just think we are. I never kill anything. I only on occasion kill mosquitos(sp) and horse flys.

Also,
Most of the ratacals are in ALF(Animal Liberation Front). PETA does release a lot of false infomation about animals though.

Yes, PETA wants people to STOP fishing too.
While I was fishing a State level Bass tourney in AZ the State Police had to patrol the lake and ticket PETA member for harassing the Bass fishermen. They don't even like people that use Catch & Release...
They fund a terrorist group that is very radical.

I am a new anoymous poster. I think that if we are going to get anything done we will have to fight the big cause. We will have to keep illegally. You would have to be a fool to sit back and let some "Suit" tell you what to do. Look at a lion sittin in a field. If another lion came up to him and said, "What youre doing is illegal." Do you think that they lion would quit and pay fines and sit in jail? No way, neither would any animal that wants to survive and neither should humans. If I see a snake that I want Legal or not, unless it is protected, Ill get it. And if someone comes and tries to take them away, Ill react to the intruder like I would any other stranger thats walking into my house and taking my things. We all live in this world and nobody can tell us what we have a right to. Just because I have money wouldnt mean that Im any more important because in the end all money is is paper. The strong survive and the weak perish.
Im trying to say, how can they pass laws if noone is going to follow them. If you sit back and do what they tell you to do than that just makes it easier for the law makers. I know we need some laws and regulations but, I can decide what is proper for me to do and what not to do. I can decide for myself, I can figure life out on my own. Isnt that the entire point of living?

We ALL operate under laws at all times. Living in the US, as well as living in any other country, we must obey laws to remain free citizens. All out bans of the keeping of venomous animals is not "freedom" in my opinion. And that is widely the opinion of many others that visit this site. To me, a reasonable approach to becoming a licensed keeper, if that law is ever passed in my state of residence, doesn't sound like the end of the world. After all, to become a licensed driver you have to pass a test. Later you can lose that privilege if you prove to be an irresponsible driver. The keeping of venomous animals is definitely a potentially dangerous practice. If too many people keep getting popped, bans in more and more states will continue to be passed.
Then, free Anonymous, you better hope you're never caught with your venomous snakes in a state where it is illegal, or you may find you are not as free as you think.
