I see you're in Virginia. Im in SE Virginia, and every year my parents house which is close to the marsh gets hatchlings all over the place. Some unfortunately get into the pool and drown in the filter. I dont know how much trouble you want to go thru, but I can give you a general area to look for them. There are little "creeks" that wander all thru-out the marsh near their house.
I used to keep the babies in a 55 gal back when I was in middle school (over 15 years ago) and then let them go after getting some size on them. I only learned in the last year or so that they're protected. I havent bothered to look for them in a long time since I've moved away from my parents house.
