Ricky: Interesting Question.
Both Skunk musk and Snake musk are made by specialized glands located in the base of the tail.
Both serve basically the same purpose.
Skunk musk is an oil based compound made of thiols and thioacetate derivatives.
I was unable to find out the makeup of snake musk, but it does not seem to be oil based.
Snake musk is more likely hormone or phermone based.
If you can access back issues of the Journal of Herpetology, and search the index, there will probably be someone who has researched the makeup of snake musk at some time in the past.
I did discover that some practitioners of Oriental Medicine use snake musk glands in the preperations of herbal cures for various ailments.
Hope this helps some. JohnZ
