Greg,
there have been several changes to Thelotornis since, and the genus and its relatives are currently undergoing revision. We should know more about the systematics of these snakes shortly.

Thanks, Thomas. They are a particularly interesting genus, what with their binocular vision. Watching them feed is a real experience.

He already wrote "Cape Cobra" only he wrote Naja haje in stead of Naja nivea. If I`m not mistaken Naja haje lives only in the northern half of Africa and is replaced by Naja annulifera in the southern half...
