About 6 Days ago, I ask a Question about Brumating Agkistrodon’s and in this Thread our Beloved Web Master ask me how I pulled off my Refrigerator Technic, without Suffocating my Snakes. Well here is my Secret:
1: Gut the Refrigerator “Freezer Included” if there happens to be a divider between the Freezer and Fridge, cut it out. This will not harm the insolation, so don’t worrie.
2: Close the Line that Feeds the Freezing Element, by Clamping or Cutting it, then Seal the Line Off. This will insure that you will have only One Cooling Element Running.
3: Plug your Refrigerator into a Thermostat,by all means, do not use the Existing Thermostat, that is already in the Refrigerator. Using the Thermostat that is already in the Fridge, can and will cause the Fridge to Freeze Up. I always use an External Thermostat, by doing this, I am able to see the Temperature Inside the Chamber without having to open the Door so often. I plug the Fridge into the Thermo, then plug the Thermo into the wall.
4: As for Ventilation, I drill 6-8 Pencil Sized Holes in one side. On the other side, I drill One Half-Dollar sized Hole. In this One Hole, I insert a Small Fan that blows outward from the Fridge, by doing this I get Full and Even Air Flow through the Fridge. I do not recommend using a Fan the moves too much Air, it would make it hard for you to keep the Temp right in the Fridge.
5: I use the same old Plastic Shoe Boxes that most Breeders use for Brumation, only thing is, I just stake them inside my Chamber. Yes, I do make sure all these Boxes have Holes in their sides.
I hope that ya’ll can use this Method and if possible, improve on it. This is my Tried and True Method, hope it helps ya’ll.

I just realized, I maid a mistake on my First Step. When I say Gut the Refrigerator, I don’t mean the Cooling Elements in the back, I only mean the Inside of the Fridge. Sorry for the Screw Up ya’ll.

Wally, thanks for the tip. I have the biggest problem to cool my snakes, as my whole house is really warm. This will definitely make my life easier.

Oh no I was not planning to use the fridge we use for our food. I have it too full as it is - I like to cook way too much :D
I'm planning to get an old fridge in some garage sale for this. Thanks for the tip though ;)

i kinda figured that, just there are some people out there, im not going to mension names, but they will try this, then realize that there isnt enough room for there food, then they'll have a fridge that only works for snakes...
I found another thing that would help that. I dont think anybody breeds praying mantises, but this might work for something else. Anyway, i found a praying mantise, over night, it made a nest. I took the nest, because on the first frost, it kills them all. So, i put the nest in the fridge, just to simulate winter, so the eggs won't hatch untill it gets warmer. But, parents dont like the idea, by the way, im only 13. So, that fridge thing he was talking about would work, but dont think parents would like me tearing the family refridgerator up :-D
But, i borrowed one of those mini fridgerators from my dad. So, im using that for now. :-P
