Good evening lads. My website will up next week, which will include everything on SI. Harold and I are putting the finishing touches on our book " Dancing with Demons", and our National Geographic shoot is done and should air in 2003. We pulled some serious venom from a cobra and a mamba, and I hope it turned out well. The website and the book are not a " how too" self-immunize instructional guide. It will include what we have learned so far, along with some very intense pics and what happens when you SI and inject pure venom. The book will include my liver and kidney assays, which are incredible, and maybe some work out of Japan(having problems with that though). I also just made a DVD on " The Art of Milking Cobras", and did a pure venom injection of Jameson's mamba venom, with live results(Harold's snake). I do NOT help people with this practice, so don't mail me and ask, what Harold and I do is VERY extreme. I don't want to be responsible for someone hurting themselves, and what I know is just between Harold and myself. If what you see on my website is something you might try, you will DIE. The facts that are listed here are wrong, so just wait till next week. Join the SHHS, and be safe. Tim

If you put together a study, I'd be interested in reading the results. The pharmacological values of snake venom--on a grand scale--are far from being realized. To my knowledge though, the handful of people who have hyperimmunized against snake venoms are *very* healthy...the giant holes in their legs withstanding, of course.
Cheers

Hello Roger, hope the field is treating you well. Harold and I have some scars, but mainly me from the cytotoxic cobra experiments over the years. The worst was a cape, go figure, but the KING will always be " Old Number 8", N. kaouthia, makes the mambas look like garter snakes(well, sorta). Give that little girl a kiss from me, not the wife, the daughter. Tim

To Steve777,
I don't think there is any research on the concept that you are talking about. It seems unlikely that either venom molecules, or venom antibodies would single out harmful bacteria in the bloodstream and kill it. As for the "patch method" of self immunizing that you asked about, it wouldn't work. Snake venom molecules are typically very complex, large molecules that do not migrate through the skin. I have to admit that Bill Haast's longevity is certainly intriguing. At age 89 I watched him snag egyptian cobras with one hand. And as a person who works in the medical field with the elderly, his health and vigor is certainly out of the ordinary. Because the sample size of people who SI is so low, I don't think we'll ever know for sure if its the venom injections that keep him going or not.

Hey Tim,
The field bites....to put it nicely. Big news is that I'm a few strokes of my CO's pen away from being a Harvard student--alas that doesn't make me undeployable. Looking forward to seeing the website...and don't be suprised if Harvard calls up one day wanting to turn you into a pin cushion.
Cheers
Roger

I'd be glad for that. There is a patch that can open pores with some penetration for some type of drug, can't remember though. Health has a lot to do Bill's age, and genetics. Plus he loves what he does, that's a powerful combo. As far as being studied in NA Rog, that's a no go, human samples are not usually allowed in universities for study(afraid of disease). The college where I go can't even look at my blood, and they have a immunology dept. I'd have to do a ELISA myself with equipment I can't afford. I'll find a way. Tim

I am pushing my Company very hard in the proteomics to find uses for venom protiens. I work in one of the largest genomics companies worldwide, and if any of you guys have suggestions, or ideas of how I may incorporate this into my buisness I would be quite intrigued. Just curious because our head chemist seems to be quite interested in the pharmacological uses as well. thanks guys,
