Can anybody provide me with some information on medical costs related to bites frm venomous species, preferably those native to the U.S. or of comparable toxicity. I am researching possible book idea, whch would be intended to make unqualified keepers think twice about getting venomous reptiles. I am trying to find either information on who to contact for this type of information or, preferably, people who know the average cost of medical fees for a moderate-to-severe bite, whether they know from their own research or experience with their own or an acquintance's bite. If the book becomes a reality, I will give full credit to any sources that I use. Thank You.

What timing. I just uploaded an article entitled, "Are you really prepared?". Check it out.
If you are going to write a book, your best bet is to interview snakebite patients and get firsthand accounts of what it cost them monetarily - hospital costs, lost wages etc.
