Venomoid Spitting Cobra?

I am really confused as to the point of having a Spitting Cobra that has no venom. Isn't that a lot like having a Ferrari that has no engine? I honestly do not get it. If this was an animal that someone could just not live without, and so it was made into a venomoid, why is it showing up in the classifieds to be traded for some other snake that is venom intact? This is really confusing me, The Mouse In The House.

Hey Mouse,
It ain't so confusing. It's mostly people being people. Few of us really know what we want.
At the Hamburg show last month, there were at least two, large tables devoted to nothing but venomoids and the prices ranged from $350 for an atrox to $1200 for O. hannah. I don't know what guarentees went with these animals, if any.
I'm not going to crank up the tired, old venomoid argument again except to say that these snakes were not intended for educational purposes, but the general public. I leave the morality of it all up to others to hash out.

ok i got many replies from the experts on venomous
reptiles i dont know if this goes to one of you or all
of you but i greatly apreciate all the generous
answers to the last gentlman who sent me this email of
stop mutilating snakes to impress my friends i say
this buddy im an animal educator what would you rather
me do bring a snake into a school that if the 1 in a
1,000, 000 chance that any one besides me got bit and
died or have a beautiful snake that i can show kids
(safely) who would otherwise never see or respect this
amazing animal i can take the heat you want them to?
im not dumn enough to bring a hot snake within
100yards of a child. but what would you rather have a
child who feared snakes or a child who loved respected
and new the truth about snakes dont be so quick to
bash me i keep over 8 diff species of hots in my own
room and i handle them daily with me its not how big
my balls are its how smart one can be thanx pal....
