just cut and suck

This product in a word is "useless" when it comes to snakebites. It is nothing more than a variation of the old cut and suck method without the cutting and without the shot of whiskey. The literature all shows that the extractor does not remove significant amounts of venom, and no envenomation that I have treated has ever benefited by it's use prior to getting to the hospital. It does not remove a significant amount of venom that has been deposited deep into Sub-Q tissues. What many people see is venom that has been left on the skin and serum/blood as a result of the puncture. I'll take the shot of whiskey before I will use this product if bitten-at least I won't care if I'm drunk.
