hi lisa i recieved your e mail and could nt reply for some reason so i ll do it on here .
because some people don t understand these terms i ll explain some :
noman nudem:
is not a type of snake ! it is latin for naked named that is not refarded as valid because inadaquate specimans .
nomina dubia is not a type of snake !!
it means dubious named proposed for a given organisim or group but incomplete speciamas very similer to noman nudem.
they don t just apply to snakes they can be dinosaurs,
mammals or anything.
right no we cleared that up :
snakes that have been refererd to as boidae with doubt ;
one snakes refered to with doubt is botrophis its is also a numen dubium they think it might have been venomous . there are some reffered to with doubt to erycinae i can e mail you them if you like ?
snakes which have been considered nomina dubians :
There are a lot of snakes that get called these things because the amount of incomplete snakes out there but the main one you might here are :
ophidioniscus antiquus gives very poor info
palaeolaphis - antiquus
robustus
sctyalophis , tachyophis , python euboicus , ''elaphis'' boulei , phylophis gracalis,
paleophis haidannus and paleophis longus both give poor info.
sevaral colubrid fossils have been considered nomina duia from the genus natrix , coluber, ogmophis ,and scaptophis.
snakes as nomia nuda :
coluber papyraceus , paleophis giganteus , tropidonotus elongatus, vipera sananiensis , i know of these snakes being noman nuda's there may be more again i ll e mail you if you need anything else .
serpents as incertae sedis
goinophis is very difficult to place in any taxa it may be in the group scolecophidia or alethinophidia .
snakes which somtimes get reffered as sauria .
mesophis and pachyophis are two snakes which have been found and the vertabrae make paleontologist beleave they are lizards .
described snakes but have been assigned to mollusca
The only one i know of is bothrodon which was found in south america .
possible snakes but reffered as plants :
crotalus reliquus the leaf base somtimes look like snake scales i beleave they call it arundo crotaliodes if it is a plant .
there might be things i ve missed but i somtimes come on here anyway .
good thing i came on today i ain t been on in a while .

The Phantom or someone posing as The Phantom did indeed answer this thread. The post was rude and condescending and I deleted it.
This website is supposed to be used to educate people, not make them feel inadequate or stupid. I really don't care how many years of education someone has. I will not tolerate being talked down to. The people who do post useful information on here, who have higher education, such as Wolfgang Wuster and Bryan Grieg Fry and all the rest, do not feel the need to look down their noses at the less educated and neither should anyone posting as "The Phantom".

I agree with you karl i respect everyone on this site , i like to come on every now and then but i hate to see people getting abused and being looked down on. That anonymous poster was talking about his education but the info he gave on this board was pretty bad . If i remember it he said somthing about nomina dubia being a snake the size of 3 school buses , when it is reffered to an animal which is to incomplete for proper classification .
any way thanks
shaun
