Hi !
I´ve got a trio Crotalus scutulatus salvini, 1 male and 2 females. I kept theese three snakes in the same cage till just before X-mas and then I seperated them. My plan was to seperate them for about two months and then put them together again to breed them. But now one of the females is not the same as she used to be. When I enter my snakeroom, she get´s angry like hell and she immediately coils up into striking position, but in this position she often falls down on her back. Just awhile ago, she was always nice and timid and I rarely even heard her rattle. She hasn´t eaten since november but she´s still fat, anyway, she´s still fat the last third part of her body and from the head and two thirds down of her body she´s quite tiny...
So... Is it possible for her to be pregnant ? Is this the regular sympthoms ? The reason that I ask is because I didn´t saw any mating...

Of course it's possible, but she may also be compacted. Irritability isn't necessarily indicative of gravidity. In fact, I've never noticed any particular change in attitude of gravid rattlesnakes. If she is normally calm, and now she is nasty, it likely only means that she doesn't feel well. It could mean that she's expecting but it could also mean that she's ill. I'd ahve a vet or other expert take a look if I were in your position.

Hi...
I don´t think she´s compacted, because she left a whole pile in her tank and her temper is much better again... But it looks like she´s swollow at least 5 golfballs... :)
