Hello everyone,
Me, my Wife and the inlaws are going to a little place just south of Myrtle Beach in a week. Normaly, spending a week in close quarters with the inlaws would be one step above the Chinese water tourture however, seeing as how we are headed south, I can hardly wait to spend the week herpin. I have never been herping in the coastal south. I was wondering if anyone could give me any pointers, or maybe know of a good spot, or would want to join me for a day or two? Any thing will be greatly appreciated. I'm not looking to keep anything,i couldn't bring home a rattlesnake with the inlaws in the car anyway, just herping and pictures. thanks in advance. Chris

Try Myrtle Beach State Park, you should have some luck there. Also Huntington Beach State Park is a good place to look.If you get a chance check out Alligator Adventures in North Myrtle Beach, they have a awesome collection of reptiles. Trey

if you have a little travel time, try north of there at the nc/sc line. i hunted there in 2002. excellent place, plenty of sand roads. if the weather stays as is now, early evening is good. if it's hot as hell, then early moring as the sun is coming up will be the best time. good luck.

Chris,
While you are there take the hour drive north to Wilmington, N.C. and go see Cape Fear Serpentarium. It is the Disney World of serpentariums.
I uploaded some pics to the photo album section so you can see what I am talking about.
Later,
Todd
