Does any body know of a good site to go to for info on the autlan rattlesnake. I went to this german site and it had a picture and very little info but I did use an online translator and had it put into english.
It said
"Jens Sievertīs rattle snakes photo page
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- . CROTALUS LANNOMI
The Autlan - rattle snake unfortunately only this is confessed to the current moment a copy. The little snake became dead on a street in Jalisco (westl. Mexico) found. It measures almost 64cm whereby about 7cm fall to the tail. The animal has a wide head and a little rattle. The reason coloring of this copy is grey. Over its back, a row stretches browner, blackly bound, rhombic spots. Over the poison effect of this type, is nothing confessed. The relational relation to other rattle snakes will remain probably so long unclear until new copies of this type are found.
The photo duplicated above was received by John H. Tashjian. John works for the "Californias Academy of Science". If its more wants to know over it or the "CAL", I recommend you following side: http://elib.cs.berkeley.edu/photos/about.shtml "
I want to do research on this snake but there is not a whole lot of info on it considering that there was only one found and it was dead on the road. Its a darn shame. But if anyone has any information please share it. thanks
Jimmy

http://www.cucba.udg.mx/es/paginter/anpel/animales_de_jalisco_con_veneno.html is the only site I found with any actual info (very little), none of which differs from any other rattlesnake with the exception of "probablemente extinta". However, several other spanish language sites list it among the snakes that you might see if you visit their area, so who knows.

thanks for the site. Don't ya think it's a shame that that a scientist find a new species dead. none have ever been seen since. It might have been the last of its kind.I wish there were more of those rattlesnakes around, I'd like to know more about them.
