The male will have a slightly longer tail and can be verified by a comparitive, subcaudual scale count. However, this isn't 100 percent. Borderline counts can go either way. Also, the male's tail will have a more gradual taper from the vent back due to the hemipenes being housed there.
The only 100% sure way is to probe.
