A friend of my was bitten by a snake while in vietnam. He has ulcerating sores on the leg that was bitten, and we think that it resulted from the snake bite. If anyone has any information on this topic, it will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Agree with Tim. This doesn't sound like a snake bite. I came out of Nam with a nasty fungus that stayed with me for years. I finally killed it with Clorox.
luck,

What was the time span between the bite and ulcerations? Are we talking decades here (as in Viet Nam War)? Where exactly are these ulcers, and how big are they, and how long have they been there? Are they draining anything? If so, what does it look like? Are any other symptoms present (fever?)? Does your friend have any of these medical problems:
1. Diabetes
2. Congestive heart failure
3. Atherosclerotic peripheral vascular disease (a.k.a. "clogged arteries")
4. Peripheral venous insufficiency (lots of varicose veins, and/ or swelling in the legs made worse by standing for long periods)
?
How old is he or she?
Just trying to get some info so I can give somewhat of an educated guess about what might be going on.
