Hey yall hope you had a good new year and christmas etc. In 2007 i am hoping to take a trip to australia and i am wondering as to what species of snakes mainly venomous are found there and in the outback etc. The reason i ask this is because i am desperate to go and get some photos whilst spending my time there. I realize that many of you are based in america but you all also no a lot more than me so any advice or links would be usefull.
Thanks peeps Aaron

What part of Australia are you planning to visit?
Just saying you are going to visit the outback is like saying you are going to visit the Western United States. If you have an specific area in mind, perhaps people here can advise you on what to look for. JohnZ

Az no matter where you go in Ausralia be bloody careful, as most snakes are venomous but there are some great non venomous species aswell but it depends where you are going if your hiking then you really must do a hell of alot of research I understand your excitement christ id love to go myself but please look at the snakes likley to be in your area as some identical snake species can have differing venom charicteristics I.E. the tiapan and the Costal tiapan the latter is supposedly one hell of a snake to get tagged by not that a any Taipan would be good, anyway if you do sort out where you are going mail it and ill help look up some of the snakes your likley to encounter. regards keys, hows the Rock Python doing good i hope.
