If it were available
to draw a ticket
from NCWRC and
get a regulated
permit to allow
someone take
only two pigmies
every 5 years.
Would those who
visit this state to
hunt pigmies in
NC. Would you
purchase it and
call in your
findings? or would
you just still collect
them any ways like
many folks from
out of state
especially south
eastern VA and
Ohio herpers do?

Although the law states you may get a special permit to collect species of special concern, there is no money in the budget to fund said permit office... so it is not currently possible to secure such a permit. That law "protecting" endangered species and species of special concern, and providing a permit system to collect and work with these animals, is what's known as an unfunded mandate. The law was passed, but was never provided for in the state budget.
