Could any Florida licensed venomous keepers here tell me how long it took from the time you applied for your license until you received it? How long have you had to wait for a renewal?
If there were specific problems that took time to iron out, please explain.
If you don't want to step on toes, feel free to email me instead of posting. I won't use any names without permission (and probably won't have any reason to anyway).
The main reason I ask is that I think this is something that some people supporting/fence sitting the "regulated reptiles" scheme are overlooking but want a better picture before I suggest that my experience, or the stories I've heard from a couple others are typical.

Larry,
I cannot speak for others, but I have had nothing but good things to say about my inspectors. My permit came quickly after my first inspection around 10 years ago and each renewal has been smooth and no problems. For me, the system works fine. However, I do know of others who have had problems partly due to questionable caging, husbandry, etc.

Larry,
I have never had a problem with getting my permit or renewal. The first one seemed to be going a little slow so I called them up to check on it. They told me that they had received my check and my application and that it was being processed. Shortly after that, it came in the mail. I live out of state (Georgia) so no inspection was required. Hope this helps.
