i live in albany ga. i have a problem with cottonmouths. i have 4 acres on the edge of wetland surrounded by development. i have asked the zoo if they want them and they dont. other than killing them (i am very careful and will not kill other snakes including rattlesnakes), what can i do?
my wife was bit when she stepped on one in the yard 3 years ago. $65,000 (insurance) of anti-venom and she is fine. we lived here for 10 years and did not kill any snakes until that happened but now i cant have cottonmouths around. anybody want them?
i actually used to catch all the vipers and move them out to the country but i am also a bit leery of catching them anymore. the biggest is 5 feet and i have photos of 6 differant ones so far this season.
anyway what can i do other than kill the cottonmouths?

Hello,
If you contact a company called snake getters they will organize a hunt to come and collect the cottonmouths from your property and will not destroy the snakes. Their website is www.snakegetters.com
I wish more people were like you and wanted to just remove instead of destroy. Good luck.
