Lately a number of people have posted on this site about their illegal venomous keeping activities.
This sort of behavior is not condoned at this site.
If you feel strongly enough to keep venomous reptiles in violation of your locally applicable laws - DO NOT TALK ABOUT IT HERE!
Feel free to click on the "About the SHHS" link in the Navigation Bar to your left. There you will find the explanations about why we do not accept such behavior here.
Continued posting about illegal activities will get your profile banned from this site at the least.
In the worst case scenario, one of the many Law Enforcement Agents who use this site will decide that you look interesting enough to investigate and you may be raided/arrested/set-up or otherwise spend time under the microscope of the judicial system.
This has been posted as FAIR WARNING.
DO NOT CARRY ON DISCUSSIONS OF ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES ON THIS SITE!

Yes indeed Karl. I'll never forget the extensive conversations that I had with a U.S. Attorney regarding the Nevada case a while back. I don't care to jump through those hoops again. I barely missed being subpoenaed on that case.
Trust me. They're watching.

For those that do not believe anyone is watching what goes on here. i got a call couple months back from a guy just below Atlanta. he offered to give me his canebrake and cottonmouth collection. he got disheartened when GA DNR came and impounded his cobras. we went down that weekend to get them. out of curiosity, i asked how they found out, and they tracked him thru posts he made on this very site. the officials know v/r.org is here. my advise is to stay withing the parameters of the law, but if you are not going to, don't be simple enough to talk about it in public. haha.

Maybe I'm just not noticing or maybe the posts are being deleted prior to my viewing it, but what are some examples of people posting illegal activities on this site? I guess I just haven't seen it.

That is interesting. Although I try to live a clean and lawful life, the idea that I could brag about made up nonsense on the internet and be visited by law enforcement (like this is a credible source)is disconcerting. Surveillance is scary.

Monte, most likely the posts were taken down before you ever read them.
As site managers we try to remove items that go against the positive image of venomous reptile keeping, or talk about breaking Wildlife Laws.
We also remove posts with things like bad language, that go against this being a family friendly site that is visited by many school age folks.
Best Regards

It seems to me that most of the people who have venomous snakes do so because of their fascination for them. I would say most people who do have them are hobbyists who should enjoy their hobby but learn to keep it to themselves.
It's too bad that most people feel they should brag about what they have only drawing attention to themselves. I for one have always been fascinated with the various species of rattlesnakes we have here in the US, but I just wouldn't want a DNR officer knocking on my door, so I'll enjoy them from afar.
