I have express my consern. But, I have been inored.
What do you guys feel I should do to help my freid avoid getting bitten.
He is 18 and very hard headed!!!
Thank you for any imput

Hi Anon,
Send this turkey over to www.pitvipers.com, the General Venomous Forum. I am documenting a bite that I recieved yesterday evening. I'll have some photos of it up next week. I think he'll be impressed with just how fat a hand can get from a relitivly minor envenomation.
luck,
f

Unfortunately, some people just have to learn the hard way. If our snakebite photo album doesn't convince him, he's just a headline waiting to happen.

After I've posted the pics in the Pits, I'll send them along to you. Unless necrosis sets in, they're not all that spectacular, but this snake is only 16 to 18 inches long. They might raise some respect for A. c. contortrix. The little bastard certainly got my attention.
I'm doing it this way because there are some folks who tend to get a little careless (besides myself) and I want to reach a larger audience with them.
luck,
f

If you go to the photo albums and click on snakebite, you can upload the photos directly into the album. Look for the link that says "Upload Photo". If you don't have a scanner, mail them to me.
Thanks F.

Ok, I see how it's done. I have a scanner but I'm not very good at running it yet.
The bite's coming along nicely. The swelling is starting to go down a bit and it's starting to itch. The thumb is still in doubt, but I think it'll be ok.
I'll scan and send the pics as soon as I get the films developed.
luck,
f
