Atropoides nummifer has been bred in captivity in Guatemala at the Universidad del Valle. We've been raising 3 different litters of them...Last litter was in 1997. The first was in 1993. Young nummifers can be a bit picky about diet some won't accept baby mice but will accept Norops crassulus. Litter size will be in the neigborhood of 30 juveniles...
I can't release much more than what I've stated here...

Captive breeding of A. nummifer has happened several times. REPTILES Magazine published material about them last year that referenced an article from the Ontario Herpetological Society from ( I think this is the right year ) 1983 where one of its members had quite abit of success breeding them in captivity.
I'm not too sure about what ssp the nummifer in the article were. But if you can get your hands on it there's some really good info about captive care, husbandry, and breeding.
Hope this helps..................
