What is the neurotoxic makeup of C. scutelatus venom? Pre or post-synaptic? Or is it a stimulator or combination thereof?
Cheers

They're beta neuro's(PLA2), just like all of them and don't have alphas. The elapids can swing both ways and have betas and alphas, but angusticeps is lacking in the alpha sector, the ONLY elapid at this time with no alphas. Crotalus> beta, elapids>, some have beta and alpha and some have the third neuro, the cleft toxins(fasciculins), Dendroaspis. Easy way to remember, the ABC neurotoxins. A is alpha(post), B is beta(pre) and the C is cleft(fas). I just made that up, it should help. The Dendro is a beta, but a K-blocker, not a PLA2. Peace Rog, I typed that fast, hope it's right.
