Can you tail a copperhead? How bout a Timber Rattlesnake, of course not when its in its S form but when its no the run.

It can be done, but it is a little risky. And it all depends on the size and temperament of the snake. The shorter the snake, the more likely it is to turn around and tag you. I make it a general rule not to tail anything less than 36 inches. I have tailed smaller snakes of course, but it depends on the temperament of the animal. Tailing anything less than 20 inches is an invitation for disaster - especially for a beginner.

thank you. Would a stick be ok to use if u dont have a hook? and you can get a copperhead to get into a defensive posture right? get them to just sit still (for a nice picture) but thats pushing my luck isnt it...
