I know that this is a herp forum but being that you guys are the only americans I know I would like to know something if you can help. We here, don`t have IQ tests but I know that you take them in the U.S. so I would like to ask you what the averege IQ is and what is the maximum score that someone can get at a classic IQ test. Anticipated thanks, Alex S.

My understanding is that the average score, by definition, would be 100 if there were any such thing as a standard IQ test. They really aren't used much here except by people who are looking for a way to impress others.

average IQ is 100, this number is derrived from the score divided by the average score for people of the same age, then multiplied by 100, thereby 100 would be average, represented as N/N x 100 = 100, IQ is not used for average individuals for the most part, however, therefor, a specific test must be set up for each individual based upon the age, cultural background, and intellectual growth the person has been exposed to, the "standard" IQ tests are not true IQ tests, they simply give a general idea of the individual's IQ, usually the score has a margin of error of 10-20 points. It is also important to know that this number is not related to the total knowledge of the person, but rather the capacity to learn.
