I recently moved to a state where venomous are prohibited,I now need to get rid of my collection before I get myself in trouble. The wildlife agency in my state will not issue a permit, and they will destroy my animals if found. I am in quite a bind, any advice?

My advice would be to remove the snakes from your property and to someone else's who resides in a legal area asap. Posting here on this forum though may not be the best thing to do in these cases... but good luck! Next time, know about the laws *before* the move.

Do not give up your animals at all. Keep quite and no one will know at all. Its not like authorities are out hunting you down. You have a right to keep them.

How do you have a right when it is against the law? That is the most idiotic thing I have read in a long time.

Do the laws stop murderers, rapist, ect? How would I let some moronic politician who doesnt know a King Cobra from a Corn snake tell me what I can and cannot keep. That will never ever happen. Just because a group of people who sit around and decide what laws they can force upon people doesnt mean I will apply especially if my herps are at stake.

Exactly. And this is why these laws are passed in city after city and State after State. Because people like you won't do things the right way and seem to think that you can and will do as you please and say "screw everyone else" and this only reinforces others perception of the bad side of the hobby and helps to build cases for those that carry these absurd bans to the next courtroom. So instead of doing things the right way, you choose to worsen things for everyone else and then go online and encourage others to do so too? A real mental giant you are.
Why not say for a person to house their animals in a legal environment for now and work on overcoming these laws and overturning these bans instead of fueling the flames and causing future problems and potentially getting this person arrested and having his animals destroyed? And you really don't think that the local authorities track down people who keep these illegally? Where has you head been stuck for the last few years? People get busted every day.
And, please, don't bother trying to rile me with your 15 year old little anonymous ranting, I'm not biting today.

It's good to see that the Web Masters are deleting the junk from the Anonymous posters almost as quickly as the appear! Hopefully, they are tracing and banning them from the site also. I would hate to loose the ability to post anonymus on occasion, but it might be worth it just to get rid of these jerks. They stink of PETA, and I dont mean "People Eating Tasty Animals". Cro

Keeping venomous exotic snakes illegally has some serious problems. Here is a case in point regarding a Puff Adder bite in AZ, where exotics are illegal. I spoke with the physician that treated the patient he told me a scary tail.
The patient would not tell the physician what type of snake he was bitten by even though the doctors felt he was knowlageable about snakes by the conversation. As many of you know there are some common symptoms associated with bites by C. atrox and B. arietans. Well in Tucson the Atrox bites are the most common, so the doctors were going to treat the bite as one. The victim finally told when they were going to start to give him Wyeth Crotalid A/V which obviously would not work. The proper serum was obtained and the patient recovered to a confiscated very large "HOT" collection. Then he had to "face the music", a large legal bill (Fines & Lawyers) to deal with on top of the medical bill. Is it worth it??

Oh by the way. Aquaherp is exactly right. People won't do it the right way, because they have a "Right", COW Patties!! I dare to say some people should not be allowed to keep dangerious animals. Just like some people can't drive a car legally.

I personally do not have anything against PETA. I look at there website from time to time and they seem more like now they are fine with people keep animals as long as they do it properly. They have seem to be doing a lot of adoptions now.
