I recently started a thread about copperhead eye color. If you have a copperhead and are positive about what sex it is, tell me the sex of the snake and if its eye color is golden or if it is red.

Are you looking to make a connection with sex and eye color like in Box Turtles?

I have found many female Northern Copperheads with gold and orangish eyes.

I have a female southern, golden eyes, just as golden as the rest of her head. Her body is another story, she's got green and pink in her. Pretty COOL!!

I doubt there is a link like box turtles, both of my northerns have red orange eyes. Pecos both have silver etc. They are highly variable, skin tone, scale coloration, eyes etc. Some even have cherry heads, others not as prominent. Bbands are a great example, some look like brown dung piles, others are just as orange and red as pecos. Northerns (especially my favorites in kentucky) range from ghost grey, to red, to brown, to even a lavender purpley color. In nc, many of the upland intergrades are a greenish yellow with yellow eyes. Just my observation, on my fav species,
