I am doing some research on the effects of suturing shut of venomous snakes mouths. This is occasionally a practice done by reptile wranglers to minimise the risk when handling these animals for photographs or filming. Can you steer me to any articles or sources for information on this practice (i.e., pain receptors in the mouth, nerves, other structures, risks of infection with this practice, etc.)?
Thank you very much.

The practice of "venomoiding" is controversial enough within the venomous snake keeping community. (see the article on this website by Jeff Miller) I don't know of, nor have I ever heard of anyone doing anything like that. I'm sure that would be a quick way to get a person blackballed if we ever found out about it. The SHHS is anti-roundup in a major way. We don't like "wrangling" and "showing off". You need to spend some time looking through our website.
