Well Dadee, after looking at your profile, it's not any different than mine. It tells nothing. Is that all you could add?

“It's easy for people that aren't in the pharm business to throw stones when they don't know the costs that go into making the products.”
“It's easy to complain how people are getting rich when not realizing how good we really have it here”
Read my post more carefully ( this time without being defensive). I actually stated that companies are an important part of our economy (in fact they are our economy). I also realize, however, that the wealth gap in the United States is ever increasing. We can’t simply let the rich get infinitely richer at the expense of the poor. I am simply in favor of a little more (gasp) regulation in this area. I’m not “throwing stones” as you say. I don’t want pharm companies gone; I just want them to behave themselves a little better. I love my state and my country. I realize how good it is here in the U.S. I also realize that it can be better. Just because you know you have it good is no reason to rest on your laurels and not try to improve yourself.
“Huh? Free education? Apparently you're not a home-owner. I pay taxes for schools and education, yet I have no kids. It's one of the joys of owning a home”
Obviously nothing is free, that is what taxes are for. I understand that better than most people. Read my profile, I’m a teacher. I was simply stating that there may be as better distribution of our tax money. For those of you in SC, a bridge between Lonestar and Remini may be a waste of a few million dollars. That few mill could go to, say, education or universal medicare (its a start, anyway). Pork barrel politics at its finest. Politics aside, you should be glad to pay taxes that pay for education. The key to a healthy democratic society is an EDUCATED POPULATION. You should pray that students pass through my class, so that they can understand how important it is to conserve all organisms. Hopefully, one day we’ll have educated politicians too (before the barrage of angry replies, I’m kidding about the politicians. A little).
“Price-gouging? How do you feel that it's price-gouging on the Pharm companies part?”
Once again, you should read before you reply. I wasn’t implicating the pharms, I was bemoaning the whole system.
“And at 16, how do you feel he is one of the ones that are most affected by it”
Everyone is affected. Age means nothing. He may not feel the effects as much, but his thoughts are just as valid as yours or mine. Maybe more so. If you still want to have a job when people his age are in charge (or social security) perhaps you should educate rather than berate.
In conclusion, I recognize your right to your own opinion. Perhaps, though, rather than attacking people (which is a logic phallacy) you should simply state your opinion, support it, and let people decide for themselves what they think. Then, if people want to discuss issues, we can discuss issues, not people.

You're right Al, I just get a little annoyed when someone can jump on our younger members just because of their age. My apologies everyone.

Well...That's the idea to get as much participation as possible but I had not idea that it would get people so stoked up. This is sort of a specifc to our community but it also spills over into the general population as everyone is getting squeezed by the Pharmacutical giants.
I agree this would be quite a fur-ball if we still have Trolls out there fueling the fire...LOL

"Pharm companies, FDA, and FTC. When I here those I think Greedy, corrupt, and EVIL. They are a plague to this country. That are resposable for millions of deaths. "
That's quite well said, Shane. But I'm curious, do you have any facts or sources to back up that they are resposable (whatever that means, I'll assume responsible) for millions of deaths? Everyone has an opinion, but it's nice to hear some knowledge or facts
as to why one has the opinion. If you just feel that way for the hell of it, I guess I'll except that there is an ignorance issue and respect your opinion. Also, where do you work again? A non-profit organization that you donate your time to or a greedy, corrupt, and EVIL company that makes money? Just curious.
