Canibalism in Vipera ammodytes

I read about it but never believed it.
A friend of mine who has several c.b 2005 Vipera ammodytes in a cage had a unplesant surprise a week ago. One of his baby vipers was missing and another baby viper was realy fat.
He was sure that the fat viper(about twice the size of the others with) had ate the missing one. A bout 3 days later the messing viper apeared in the cage semi-digestet as it was regurgitated by the one who ate it.
This should be a warning to anyone who keeps this species.

Hi Alex:
Thanks for the info. I'm not really surprised though. Mine is such a pig it would eat till it exploded. One of the most aggressive feeding responses I've seen.
