Nathan, the Hamburg show is listed on the site below as Northern Berks Show. That will take you to a schedule that says they have several shows a year, including: October 21, 2006, December 2, 2006, February 24, 2007, and June 9, 2007. Maybee you will be near there some time in the future and can talk your folks to take you there. In the meantime, a visit to the Reptile Land would be a good start. You should enjoy visiting there.
As far as the Northern Red-Bellied Snake, there are some areas in your state that do not have them. They like what is called a micro-habitat, which means that they like sort of specific conditions. I would look under logs and rocks in the edge habitats we talked about before. Areas where woods and fields come together. It needs to be moist so that the earthworms and snails and sluggs they eat are there. I would keep looking. They are not as common here in the south as are the Northeren Brown Snakes. I see about one Southern Red-Bellied Snake for every ten Brown Snakes. Could be the same where you live.
Hope this helps.
Best Regards JohnZ

I *think* they have two big ones a year with two smaller ones in between, but I'm not sure. Usually the october one is the best to go to because all the new babies are being born and everything is cheaper

It is too bad the folks who sponsor these shows do not spend more time updating their websites with information like that.
I just checked the vendor list for the October 06 show, and it was last updated December, 2005 ! Some of the vendors listed are no longer in business, and many new vendors are not listed also.
Probably would only take them a short while to update the list. By now, they should have an idea of vendors who are going to show up for the upcoming show, or at least showed up at the spring show.
Some things never change, LOL !

i found a perfect spot like i said before, it has a big field then it stops and turns into woods, like you said. I didnt find anything yet, But, ill check there every once in awhile.
Yesterday i was up there, i cross someones property to get to the woods, which i shouldnt have in the first place, but anyway there dog spotted me, and signaled that i was there, so the owner of the property came out and caught me before i excaped, now i know im lucky, but he talked to me, and he asked me what i was doing, and i told him i was hiking the mountain. He then lowered his tone in his voice and told me as long as i wasnt hunting i was allowed crossing the property to get over to the mountain.
I hope to get to know this guy, but, first, i need to find a way to explain this to my parents...lol
