Hi Ricky, You need to be 18 or older and look and talk like you have some technical and common sense. Most reliable vendors will ask about what you have had previous experience with.

The last Columbia Show that I was able to attend, all you needed was a picture ID to prove that you were over 18.
I doubt that it has changed much.

Ricky,
It is up to the dealers/vendors to determine if the person purchasing the venomous snake is sane and capable of caring for the animal safely. This along with a legal identification would secure the purchase of the animal. I know you, and you should not have a problem purchasing a animal just by talking to the vendors. Hope you can make it, would love to meet up and maybe go on a little hunt.

Chris, South Carolina is one of a hand full of states that have not yet passed restrictive reptile laws. There are radical animal rights nut case outfits like PETA and Humane Society of the US trying to change that and shut down reptile shows in that state, and there are people in the state trying to prevent the laws, or pass sensible reptile laws.
