I have had this red mark on my back now for over 3 weeks and it itches. It does not really hurt, but it is not going away. I have tried alcohol, hydrogen pyroxide, first aid creams, etc., and nothing seems to help..
Any idea of what this is??

Run a websearch using Brown Recluse Spider. There are some sites up that show really good pix of bites & talk about what happens. Regardless of what that is, I think you ought to have a doctor look at it.

Yeh...brown recluse spider bites really suck, you can get necroses and stuff like that so I too think you should see a doctor.Stay safe, Alex S.

I just remembered my brotherinlaw had a simillar thing on the the oposide side of his knee and I told him it was probably a spider bite. He described the simtoms and it seems like it was simillar to what you have. It worn off in a couple of weeks. But just to be sure you better visit a good doctor.

Hey,
Yea, that looks like and sounds like a spider bite. Hot, itchy, and achy. But it doesn’t look like a brown recluse (no red ring) so relax. However, if it isn’t clearing up on its own, a visit to the Dr’s can help. I’m sorry I don’t remember the name of the antibiotic, but I’ve taken a round of antibiotics specifically for spider bites before. It cleared them right up.

What state do you live in? Of ALL of the spider species that exist, people always want to blame their spider bites on the brown recluse. It's possible it could be another spider, and peoples bodies react to bites and stings differently.
Since it's lasted for so long, I'd get it looked at.
