Hey Robert. I was also thinking that it could have been a Lyre snake but I sat at the computer for like 10 minutes trying to remember the name. The name cat-eyed snake was what popped in my head but I was thinking of the Lyre snake.

Thanks for the input, everyone.
I uploaded some full-sized pictures this time, which aren't the best pictures, but do show the underside a bit, hopefully they'll be helpful.
As far as the climate of where we were in Nicaragua, it was very similar to NW Costa Rica.
I didn't see it in situ, as it was in someone else's bedroom, and by the time I got there with my camera, Mario had already picked it up. I do recall it basically trying to bite him, but he didn't care, and I assumed he knew what he was doing and that it wasn't a venemous snake.
