My aunt is a
pediatric ER Dr.
and she abhors
snakes. She lives
in California and
has seen a few
rattlesnake bites.
Her thoughts are
"all snakes should
die." Sure its sad
people are bitten
but the way that i
see it is that we
have encroached
on the snake's
land and after
getting bitten we
complain. Its like
some homeless
guy camping out
in your front yard
and never moving
out and calling it
his own. You are
obviously going to
fight back and its
only natural. I was
riled at this point
and replied to her
"sure lets just kill
all of them and let
your favorite
rodents eat all
your grain and
destroy your fields
especially in a
country where
agriculture is the
main occupation
such as in India "
She hasn't said
anything in reply
but there are too
many people out
there who choose
to remain
ignorant. I'd like to
hear what people
have to say about
this. Also i have to
condemn
rattlesnakes
roundups and i
hope everyone
who is part of it
directly or
indirectly dies....a
little harsh but we
have entirely too
many humans
around, especially
of the redneck
kind.

my thoughts exactly!!! i really HATE rattle snake roundups. i saw one on the national geographic channel. people were eviscerateing snakes and stomping on them. i also dispise those chruches who hurt snakes. i think that is almost as bad as the rattlesnake roudups.

If you don't mind getting you aunt ticked off, you might say that it is amazing that someone with the intelligence required to be a physician cannot see the need on this planet for snakes. They really do help keep other more destructive animals in check.
Rattlesnakes, particularly those that reach an adult length over a couple of feet prey primarily on rodents. If she is unaware of the serious problems rodents have, can, & will continue to cause to man, maybe she ought to research the subject.

People Just don't understand.. They think becuase the Bible makes refrence to a serpent convising Eve to eat the fruit, that snakes are the devil.. Just the other day I had a soemone over that wanted to see sanke up close so I got out my ball Python and the first thing out of her mouth was "Oh my God I am in the same house as the devil" Now she was joking but many people think that and think we shoudl kill snakes for it... I think it's a bunch of bull S**t

there are maybe 10 people that arent hicks in the northern part of alabama and i am one of the 10 luckily...they all like to hunt anything that can be killed with a rifle and just run over the rest in their pickups...most of them hate anyone that isnt the same color as they are and i kinda figure they're locked in that way of life...i just try to relocate as many snakes as i can to spots where there isnt good fishin', too far out to hunt and where there are too many trees to go off roading...that way they're safe from the inbred bunch.....and the funny part is that they are all genuinely scared of snakes...no matter how big the redneck i have still been able to make them run by just pulling out the vicious and highly aggressive ringneck snake...a lot have also quit school when they were 16 and in the 7th grade...so go figure

I agree with you completely. However, when you refer to quitting school in the 7th grade, isn't that the same as graduating in Alabama. go ahead, make your comebacks, I live in AL now. I spent 20 years in SC and they are considered a "southern redneck" state too.
As far as the ringneck snake is concerned, one of them attacked my entire family in September of 98. It bit the pinkie off of my right hand, broke the mirror off of my mom and dad's dresser, started a family feud and killed my mom's lap dog which weighed about 8 pounds. It escaped and I suspect it is probably about 9 feet long by now. Anyway, It seems that the "Ones" you speak of can be found where ever you live. I cruise the backroads weekly, and can't count the number of idiots that have run over snakes right in front of me. Makes me want to puke. Anyway, be careful of those ringneck snakes.
