geckolover, I CERTAINLY do not want to get everyone started about the age topic again. But, I do think that you are a little "hard on yourself".
I for one, enjoy hearing EVERYONES opinions here. I was pretty sure that is what you meant with your venomoid comment, but just making sure.
Experience comes with age, but there are many younger keepers who are very knowledgable and more the responsible than a lot of the the older folks who keep these animals to show off.
I started out keeping HOTS when I was younger than you are now. I just started finding a lot of copperheads that year I guess. They were here, another snake for me to catch when I went to visit my aunt, as they were all over her property. I kept a lot of seriously HOT stuff not long after that. You have to realize that being 13 with Naja WAS A VERY BAD thing. But, I was always very mature for my age, and had no desire to keep such animals beside my deep fascination with them. Thankfully, I never had any accidents, and am now "on par" with several of the older keepers, because, although it wasn't thye right time to obtain it, I have had a good bit of experience.
Anyway, the point of my ramble is that I would hate for you to hesitate posting your opinions here because you are under the impression that no one wants to hear them because of your age. That comment you made in your last post just bothered me a bit is all. The people on this site are the best there are, and are always willing to hear others opinions and help out. We are a very friendly group here, unless your are cutting up snakes to make them "safe", or free-handling cobras! LOL...
Well, good luck in the hobby. I just have a hunch that if the laws do not ban goldfish by the time you are ready to keep venomous reptiles (if you are planning on it) that you will make a knowledgable and responsible keeper.
I'll even let you in on a secret...I am only 17.. ;)
If you ever want to talk herps, shoot me an email.
Take Care,
~John Mendrola.

Geckolover, you said: "I can understand that because I am young, people wont take me seriously."
Try to not think that here. Like John said, this is a friendly site, and you are just as much of a site member here as anyone else, and have just as much right to state your views. It is great to hear what your ideas on this topic are.
If anyone does not take you seriously because of your age, that is a problem that "they" have, not you !
Sometimes, the very best ideas come from younger reptile keepers, as they are not all set in their ways, are willing to learn, and are not locked into some kind of "non-think" attitude.
We are happy to have you here, and we welcome all younger herpers to this site.
Best Regards
John Z

Thanks for all your kind words, John Z and John M. At my age it would be good to be a bit hard on myself, because I'd hate to screw up your hobby if I get bit by a wild hot and the news finds out that I have handling equipment. I personally hate it when people have venomoids with out a good reason (need for a show, but insurance won't cover liability), because I find their power part of their beauty and it could encourage others to do dangerous things.

It is good to hear that the video was taken down.
Perhaps the peer pressure worked a bit this time.
That video sure was sending the wrong message to younger reptile keepers who watched it.
Hopefully, the fellow in the video realised that, and now understands that protecting the hobby as a whole is more important than his 5 minutes of fame from showboating on UTube.
Best Regards
